Ekta Kapoor plans soap on Bajirao Mastani?!
If reports are to be believed, The Dirty Picture producer and Balaji Productions head Ekta Kapoor is all set to telecast Bajirao Mastani in 500 odd episodes on the Colors TV channel. Known as Soap Queen in the entertainment circles of Mumbai, Ekta’s plans had come out after Sanjay Leela Bhansali publicly said that he plans to make a movie on Bajirao and Mastani.
Ekta Kapoor defends her soap saying, “We all have heard and read the Bajirao Mastani story in stories and school books. Their story sits on a public domain and is in no way a copyright held by someone.”
Ekta also asserted that whatver Bhansali sir would make would be a classic Maratha love story and will be totally different from her version of a TV soap.
It’s to be noted here that Bajirao Mastani has been the dream project of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and first he wanted to telecast Salman Khan opposite Aishwarya Rai, but if rumours are to be believed, Aishwarya Rai was offered the role opposite Shahrukh Khan when Sanjay Leela Bhansali went to meet the baby of AbhiAish.
If Aishwarya & Shahrukh come together, it will be the 2nd movie the Aishwarya – Bhansali – SRK trio after Devdas which released almost a decade ago.
